Preventive Dentistry in Windsor
Solid preventive care is the foundation for your oral and overall health. Good at-home hygiene habits, in combination with professional cleanings, can keep your smile free from decay and other oral health issues like gum disease. Regular exams allow us to monitor your oral health so you can address any minor concerns before they become larger, more costly, and more invasive issues.
Whole Health Dentistry
Our team cares for your entire well-being with whole health dentistry. Through this approach, we look at the whole picture of your oral health and aim to address the cause, not just the symptoms. It's been proven that gum disease can heighten the risk of serious cardiovascular problems like heart disease and strokes. We keep this in mind when we address your dental health because we want you to not only have healthy teeth but a healthy body too. Get in touch with us to learn more about the benefits of whole health dentistry.

Regular Wellness Check-Ins
We get it, it’s easy to put off your dental visits (and we don’t blame you, life is busy!). But skipping your biannual exam can lead to bigger, more time-consuming problems down the road. Coming in twice a year gives us a chance to catch small issues early—and your check-up usually takes just about an hour. We’ll make it comfortable, relaxing, and maybe even a little fun.
We try to make every visit an opportunity for you to learn small, simple ways to support your overall wellness, from your oral health to your skin and nutrition. You’ll even get to try some fun new products like skincare samples, flavored drinks, protein shakes, or vitamins. Because when we stay curious, grow good habits, and keep showing up for ourselves, we create powerful results that last!

Cleaning & Hygiene
Regular teeth cleanings and hygiene appointments are the foundation of preventive dental care. During your cleaning, we will thoroughly cleanse your teeth and gums, removing any plaque or debris from every surface in your mouth. You’ll even be able to reverse minor stains to keep your smile bright and beautiful. We recommend scheduling routine cleanings and exams every six months for most patients, or every three to four months depending on your needs.
However, good oral hygiene shouldn’t stop when you leave our office. Keeping up with your at-home brushing and flossing routine is equally as important as attending professional cleanings, and is the best way to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Use a fluoride-rich toothpaste and an extra soft-bristled toothbrush to brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes at a time; and don’t forget to floss! Flossing at least once every day, ideally before going to bed, helps to get rid of food particles, plaque, and bacteria in between teeth.

Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays are safe, quick, and comfortable. Using the latest technology, we can create crisp, high-resolution images of your mouth’s structure, so we can make accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Digital x-rays use only a fraction of the radiation as traditional film x-rays, so you can rest easy. Most patients receive one full set of x-rays every year, but we may recommend additional imaging in the case of a dental emergency, or if we find an oral health issue that we need to investigate further.

Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride is like a little shield for your teeth. This quick, non-invasive treatment helps strengthen your enamel and protect against cavities caused by everyday acids from plaque, bacteria, and sugary snacks.
After your cleaning, we’ll apply a fluoride-rich varnish to help reinforce those vulnerable areas, especially along the gumline if you’re dealing with sensitivity from brushing too hard or gum recession. You can eat right after, but we’ll ask you to avoid anything hot, sticky, or crunchy for the rest of the day so the varnish stays put and does its job. It's a simple step with big long-term benefits for your smile.

Emergencies
Dental emergencies can be painful, stressful experiences, but we're here to help. If you're experiencing a dental emergency, the first thing to do is take a deep breath and keep calm. Then, give us a call to find out if you need immediate care. Dental emergencies can be anything from a knocked-out tooth or dental work to a persistent toothache. If you're unsure if what you're experiencing qualifies as a dental emergency, it's better to be safe than sorry, so get in touch with us right away so you can get the care you need when you need it.

Periodontal Care
Healthy gums are the foundation of a healthy smile, and a healthier you. That’s why we take periodontal care seriously, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gum disease at every stage. From gentle cleanings and detailed assessments to advanced therapies, we customize treatment to support both your oral and overall health.
If you're diagnosed with periodontal disease, we’ll take a deeper look at the underlying health conditions that could be contributing to chronic inflammation. Because gum disease is inflammatory in nature, it often signals that something else may be going on in the body. We’ll have a thoughtful conversation about your stress levels, sleep, nutrition, and systemic health, and may recommend vitamins and supplements that support your body’s ability to heal and reduce inflammation naturally.

Oral Cancer Screenings
Oral cancer screenings are included with every preventive visit and offer a simple, effective way to protect your health. We perform both intraoral and extraoral exams, checking not only your gums, tongue, and soft tissues, but also the muscles in your neck and jaw, along with any moles or bumps on your skin that may be at risk due to sun exposure. We look for signs like red or white plaques or an ulcer that hasn’t healed in over two weeks. If we see anything concerning, we may recommend a biopsy for further evaluation.
To make it easy to stay proactive about your wellness, we also offer access to a visiting plastic surgeon for the removal and biopsy of questionable skin spots.

Night Guards
Unconscious teeth grinding and clenching, known as bruxism, is a common issue that tends to happen at night while patients are asleep. However, night guards can help patients alleviate symptoms of bruxism by creating a barrier between your teeth that protects them from grinding-related damage. Depending on the severity of the case, night guards can be made from several different materials with varying degrees of softness.
We’ll also talk with you about the possible causes, whether it’s stress-related or tied to poor sleep quality. In some cases, we may recommend a sleep study or discuss stress management strategies to support your health. If needed, we can also connect you with trusted mental health providers for additional stress management help.
